Report by Filipov Vadim 20.11.2025

At the department meeting on November 20, 2025, second-year graduate student Vadim Filipov presented the interim results of his dissertation, titled “Kinetic regularities of bischofite drying” (scientific supervisor: Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Oleg Anatoliyovych Novokhat).

The work investigates the process of low-temperature drying of bischofite using infrared radiation. Based on the analysis of experimental data, it was found that at temperatures up to 90 °C, only surface moisture is removed, without dehydration of the MgCl₂·6H₂O crystal hydrate. This allows for maintaining high product quality and avoiding loss of crystallization water.

In further studies, it is planned to conduct extended experiments on drying bischofite using convective and hybrid (radiation-convective) methods to compare their kinetic characteristics and determine the conditions under which the most effective and uniform dehydration of the material is achieved.
