Report by Serhiy Homonyuk 27.11.2025

At the Department of Machines and Devices for Chemical and Oil Processing Production meeting, graduate student Gomonyuk Serhiy presented the results of his dissertation on increasing the energy efficiency of flow-through devices of the “rotor-stator” type.

Scientific supervisor: Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Seminsky O.O.

Research objective:
To develop theoretical concepts and formulate practical recommendations for improving the energy efficiency of rotor-stator flow devices for liquid processing.

Main tasks:
1. To investigate the influence of design parameters (stator geometry, rotor and rotor-stator gap) on energy consumption and energy efficiency indicators of current rotor-stator mixers.
2. To analyze the relationship between operating conditions (rotor rotation speed, flow rate, fluid viscosity and turbulence regime) and energy dissipation in mixers.
3. To develop and verify mathematical models of energy consumption using experimental data.
4. To propose strategies for optimizing mixer design to improve energy efficiency.
